35 hour week + Monthly RDO
Maribyrnong City Council's Library Service provides high quality library services to a diverse community. Maribyrnong is located just over five kilometres from the city centre and is undergoing rapid growth and change, becoming a sought after residential area and a destination for foodies.
You will be based at the Braybrook Community Hub and will work in partnership with co-located partners within an integrated hub environment. This position involves trans-disciplinary teamwork and works to build effective relationships and innovative services with key youth agencies. You will work closely with, and for young people, to enable a range of appealing library programs and services for the Braybrook and broader Maribyrnong community.
As part of the Children's and Youth Services team, you are skilled in developing children's programs, school holiday activities, collection development and promoting services and collections to school, kindergartens and the wider community.
A community focused approach to service delivery and ability to communicate with customers from a range of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds is essential.
Professional Librarian qualifications with eligibility for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association are essential for this position, as is a current Working with Children check, and valid Drivers Licence. Applicants must address the Key Selection Criteria in the application.
