The Opportunity

Our City Amenity Department has an exciting opportunity for a Security and Cleansing Officer to join our team. Reporting to Team Leader City Cleansing, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of Council's CCTV Policy and Graffiti Management Plan to enhance community safety and amenity across the municipality. This includes overseeing the operation and maintenance of Council's CCTV network, supervising contractors, managing allocated budgets, and convening the CCTV Control Group.

The role will also drive strategies to reduce graffiti, foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide high-quality customer service and business support within the City Amenity team.

Key Responsibilities

CCTV & Security Systems

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors engaged to develop and maintain Council's CCTV network and security access systems.
  • Provide advice and information to internal and external stakeholders regarding CCTV operations, access systems, and related security matters.
  • Manage programming of facility access fobs, including new requests and updates to existing access levels.

Graffiti Management

  • Conduct daily field inspections in priority areas to identify graffiti and ensure removal within required response timeframes.
  • Liaise with Council's graffiti removal contractors and monitor performance against agreed service levels.
  • Respond to and monitor graffiti-related customer requests to ensure timely resolution and compliance with KPIs.
  • Maintain databases and records relating to graffiti removal, consent requests, and DOJ participation.
  • Prepare regular reports on graffiti trends, program performance, and budget expenditure.

Amenity Compliance and Illegally dumped Rubbish

  • Undertake patrols to monitor amenity compliance and identify illegally dumped rubbish, coordinating prompt collection through Council's contractor.
  • Report and track dumped rubbish incidents and contribute to monthly reporting as required.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in contract management, including coordination and performance monitoring of external service providers.
  • Knowledge of CCTV operations, graffiti management, and amenity service delivery.
  • Proficient in Authority, CM9, Microsoft 365, and data reporting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing professional reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, contractors, and community stakeholders.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check.
